About us

Frame To Finish was started by Josh Gunnels in 2002. All of his prior hands on experience began at the young age of 12, carrying shingles up a ladder for his father.  Josh would go on to say “All I wanted to do was help nail them in”.  From that point on Josh spent his summers and winters working for general contractors, subcontractors and tradesmen in Nashville, TN. He did everything from fixing plumbing leaks to running a backhoe, and truly learned a comprehensive view of the construction industry as a teenager.

After working in various fields, both in commercial and residential construction, Josh spent 6 years in Boston, MA remodeling homes in some of Boston’s finer neighborhoods.

From Cambridge to Newton, Josh learned the true craftsmanship of construction and carpentry in particular. “It’s where I learned to keep an older homes true character intact through a remodeling process as well as match a home’s craftsmanship with our new wood work” .

Finally moving back to his native TN, Josh went to work strictly framing large custom new construction homes. As the last pieces of the puzzle fell in place, he fell in love with framing. “I realized that carpentry work, whether rough framing or fine trim, was what I truly loved to do.” Soon after, Frame To Finish was born, and has been going strong ever since.
